After the success of the popular M365 and M365 Pro, Xiaomi continues its path in the field of urban mobility with three new scooters that it launched last July. One of them, the Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter 1S, is placed in the mid-range segment and presents some improvements compared to older models. Moreover, it already benefits from a reduced price, barely two months after its release.

On paper, the Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter 1S incorporates a large number of features from the Xiaomi M365. On its design first, the brand relies again on a robust aluminum frame capable of supporting up to 100 kg. It will remain light when folded with 12.5 kg on the meter. IP54 certified, the scooter will be able to brave the rain and resist splashing. Unlike the M365, the Mi Electric Scooter 1S has a completely black design.
In accordance with French regulations, the Mi Electric Scooter 1S is clamped to drive at a maximum speed of 25 km / h. It reaches them in about 5 seconds on the flat, and remains very manoeuvrable thanks to its small size. With such a light weight, it might take a little while to handle this scooter and keep it stable, but the ride will remain smooth afterwards.
To use it, nothing could be simpler: the scooter has a throttle lever, a bell and a lever to activate the rear brake. As we noted on our test, the controls are a little distant, but they remain very comfortable over time. The scooter has three speed modes: a pedestrian mode up to 5 km / h, a standard mode up to 20 km / h and a sport mode up to 25 km / h. You can therefore modulate your speed throughout your trip, which will be very practical on the way home to work, while taking advantage of the cruise control if necessary. The Mi Electric Scooter 1S also has a clearly readable control screen that displays the speedometer, the driving mode or the remaining battery.
Autonomy side, the manufacturer announces 30 km, but it will all depend on the nature of your journey. The scooter will slow down as the battery drains, so it is advisable to keep your charger close to you.
