The new variant of the covid is widespread in America and Great Britain

London: reports of a new variant of Covid that is spreading to America and Great Britain. BA.4.6, a sub-variant of Omicron, the covid strain, is widespread.

In the UK, the prevalence of BA.4.6 was found to be 3.3% of the samples by 14 August. According to the figures, there has been a 9% increase since then. Information on this was released by the UK Health Safety Agency.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the prevalence of the new subtype in the United States is about 9%. There are also reports of this variant found in many other countries around the world.

BA.4.6 is the successor to the Omicron BA.4 variant. The BA.4 variant was first spotted in South Africa in January of this year. The new variant is estimated to have been rolled out alongside the BA.5 variant.

It is estimated that this is a variant produced by the recombination of two different variants that cause covid. The prevalence of Omicron was high, but hospitalization and mortality rates were relatively low. The same situation should occur in BA.4.6.

Recently, the World Health Organization said that the situation is not completely reversed and that there are still deaths from covid every 44 seconds.

Globally, reports on covid rates and deaths continue to decline. It is very promising. But it cannot be said to continue. Covid’s weekly rates have fallen by 80% since February. But even then, since last week, covid deaths have occurred every 44 seconds – said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organization.

He also said that most of the deaths are avoidable. Many people are probably getting tired of him repeating that the pandemic is not over yet. But he said he will keep saying it until the end.
