The new generation of Mitsubishi ASX is also available in Romania. Does it have what it takes to compete in the compact SUV segment?
The new Mitsubishi ASX was presented at the end of last year, and now the new generation can also be ordered in Romania. Prices start at 20,337 euros for the basic version. In our country, the ASX is available in four trim levels and four different engines. The basic one is represented by a 1.0 liter and 91 HP engine, then follows the 1.3 liter mild-hybrid engine with 140 or 158 HP. There is also a full-hybrid, which has a 1.6-liter engine and two electric motors, with a total power of 143 hp. The most powerful engine available is a 159 hp plug-in hybrid.
Even if the Japanese brand does not have the same offer as before, it continues to exist in the European market, especially through its SUVs. The latest member of the range is the new generation of the ASX SUV. We’ll talk about the elephant in the room first. Yes, it’s almost identical to a Renault Captur, with the difference being badges, trim levels and, perhaps most importantly, Mitsubishi’s five-year warranty.
What does the most affordable Mitsubishi ASX offer?
The cheapest The ASX you can buy comes equipped with a 1.0-liter engine that produces 91 hp and is mated to either a manual gearbox or a seven-speed automatic. This engine is available on the Inform and Invite trims. The basic equipment, Inform, with the 1.0-liter engine and manual gearbox, has a starting price of 20,337 euros. For this money you will get headlights and taillights with technology LEDa 7-inch central screen, traffic sign recognition system, reversing camera and automatic emergency braking.
Intermediate trims, Invite and Intense, additionally offer automatic climate control, keyless entry system, adaptive autopilot, 10-inch digital instrument panel, 9.3-inch infotainment system and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The most expensive version of the new ASX has a starting price of 38,187 euros. It is the Instyle trim level, with a 159 HP plug-n hybrid engine. The top Instyle trim adds a sunroof, leather upholstery, wireless charging, 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat and wood trim.
