The S-Class cars have always been among the most comfortable places where you can rest and relax during long journeys. And while this may seem almost impossible, the new S-Class should once again raise the bar in almost every respect or detail.

For one thing, let’s leave aside the sophisticated design, which features, for example, a premium infotainment display at the end of the center tunnel, hovering just above the dashboard, or elegant seat controls.
Instead, let’s look, for example, directly at the seats themselves, which have been completely newly developed. The seats offer even more comfort, a wider range of settings, more powerful ventilation and heating functions, a heated cushion in the back, speakers near the ears in the front and, of course, AGR certification, which is awarded by a committee of doctors and healthy sitting experts.

Great emphasis was also placed on materials that should be even better, more unique and premium. In some versions, for example, we find premium walnut wood on the dashboard, which is interspersed with thin strips of aluminum. In lower versions, we can count on quality leather in various colors and shades.
An interesting element will also be sophisticated ambient lighting, which uses optical fibers made of transparent material. Each light fiber should be composed of about 250 RGB LEDs, which are spaced at a distance of about 1.6 centimeters. The goal was to create a continuous line of light that will contribute to creating a pleasant atmosphere during the day and night.

However, ambient lighting should not be just a decorative element. In combination with blind-spot monitoring systems or lane departure assistance, ambient lighting should be able to alert the driver to dangerous situations with a red light animation. In addition, the color may change depending on changes in the temperature setting or when voice control is activated.
Ambient lighting is part of the Energizing Comfort programs, including Energizing Air Control ventilation. It offers a very sophisticated filter that protects the crew from dust, allergens and unpleasant odors. Depending on the market, the system will also be equipped with an air quality recognition function, and there should also be an active perfume program Air-Balance for perfuming the interior with special perfumes designed exclusively for class S.

An equally interesting feature will be the Energizing Seat Kinetics, which should contribute to less fatigue and weakening of the driver’s muscles on longer journeys. The system uses electrically operated seats for small movements in the range of several degrees (backrest tilt) or millimeters (movement of the center backrest cushion). For more sophisticated seats, the system also works with a lumbar support.
The Energizing Seat kinetics function works on the principle of a patent algorithm and acts primarily on the spine, thanks to which it should release muscle tension and help the driver stay fresh and alert on the road. The function offers settings depending on the length of the route (short, medium, long), which affects the number of cycles.
