Less than two weeks after Lada started production of the new “simplified” Niva, AvtoVAZ also started official sales of the updated model in Russia. Cars are sold with an extremely basic level of equipment similar to some of the other models of the Russian company. Until now, the standard Niva was sold at prices starting from 13,582 euros, but they are now much lower.
Now anyone who wants to can buy a “simplified” Niva, the price of which starts at 647,600 rubles or about 10,728 euros. For this amount, customers get 16-inch wheels, electric front windows, daytime running lights and an on-board computer. The car is not equipped with an audio system, but it has an antenna, wiring and speakers for it.

The new SUVs are devoid of anti-lock braking system, also known as ABS, as well as side airbags. It is not known what engine the cars are equipped with, but it is likely to be the same 1.7-liter engine with 83 horsepower and 129 newton meters, which is well known to fans of Russian engineering.
