Although the production of the sharp generation of the eighth Golf has not yet started, we still have the first information about Czech prices.

We have known the parameters of the eighth generation of the sharp Volkswagen Golf GTI, including its more economical alternative to GTD and hybrid GTE, since February this year. The ceremonial premiere was supposed to take place during the Geneva Motor Show, but we all know how things turned out in the end.

Today, however, the situation is much more favorable and the sharp Golf, at least in the GTI version, is significantly closer to customers. The management of the Czech representation of Volkswagen has confirmed to us that the start of orders is planned for this or next week. And we know the first prices.
The eighth generation of the Volkswagen Golf GTI, in combination with a six-speed manual transmission, will start at CZK 832,990. Those interested in a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission will then have to reach a little deeper in their pockets – the price should start at CZK 892,900.

Compared to the facelift of the seventh generation of the sharp Golf, the prices of which we published at the end of January 2017, customers will pay quite significantly. The facelifted seven-seater Golf GTI started at a price of CZK 692,900, while the version with DSG started from the amount of CZK 752,900.
It is worth mentioning the power unit of the new Golf GTI, which is a turbocharged 2.0 TSI four-cylinder petrol engine (EA888 evo4 series), which offers a maximum output of 180 kW (245 hp) and 370 Nm of torque. XDS differential lock and we will also see an optional adaptive chassis.

Production of the GTI with the DSG transmission should start within the 34th week of this year (ie already in the next week), while we will have to wait until the 44th week (from October 26) for the production of the version with the manual. Unfortunately, we do not currently have more information about the hybrid GTE and the diesel GTD.
