The new Genesis G90 will receive an advanced autopilot with lasers

TheKoreanCarBlog website writes that the new Genesis G90 is equipped with a front camera, a radar and two lidars with laser rangefinders. Equipment suppliers will be Mando and Velodyme. All three systems will be combined into a single complex under the control of a software and computing platform developed by Hyundai Motor. Such a solution will allow implementing the Level 3 autopilot, that is, in some cases, the driver will be able to remove his hands from the steering wheel and not look at the road at all.

One of the first Audi tried to implement a third-level autonomous movement system. It was supposed that the current Audi A8 would receive it, but due to the underdeveloped legislation, the company could not homologate the technology in any of the key markets. In addition, such an autopilot is recognized as the most dangerous, since it is impossible to ensure its correct use. Even Volvo thought so, so immediately proceeded to the development of more advanced systems.
