The Dimensity family continues to grow and spin ever finer. Now that practically all price segments have been covered since Dimensity 720 al Dimensity 1000+, the new MediaTek Dimensity 800U.
The MediaTek Dimensity 800U sits midway between the MediaTek Dimensity 800 and the MediaTek Dimensity 820, focused on nurturing 5G connectivity to the mid-range and with some additional novelty in terms of connectivity.

Depending on how you look at it, the MediaTek Dimensity 800U is a more powerful Dimensity 800, or a somewhat lowered Dimensity 820. This processor shares many characteristics with the rest of the companions in the Dimensity series, starting with the 7 nanometer lithograph and the distribution of two powerful and six efficient cores.
Hard work is done by the of the BIG Cortex A76 cores at 2.4 GHz, accompanied by six Cortex-A55 cores at 2 GHz with better energy efficiency. In comparison, the Dimensity 800 ran 4 x Cortex A76 at 2 Ghz and 4 x Cortex A55 at 2 Ghz, while the Dimensity 820 includes 4 x Cortex A76 at 2.6 GHz and 4 x Cortex A55 at 2 GHz. The GPU of choice It is ARM’s Mali-G57 MC3, and integrates the MediaTek APU for AI.

Of course, the MediaTek Dimensity 800U is a 5G processor, compatible with both SA and NSA infrastructure. New to this model is support for 5G-CA (2CC 5G Carrier Aggregation) and Dual 5G SIM.
The support is similar to the rest of Dimensity’s SoCs: it supports displays at 120 Hz with a maximum resolution of 2520 x 1080, up to 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.2 storage and cameras of a 64 megapixel or 20 + 16 MP lens when combining several.
