The Queen addressed the public in a rare TV speech on Sunday. She probably did not expect that her green dress in particular would be well received on the net. Many Twitter users used it as a green screen and conjured up new items of clothing for the Queen.
On Sunday, Queen Elizabeth II addressed her people in a rare TV speech. She spoke about the corona crisis and wanted to convey hope in the current situation.
On Twitter, however, the speech was apparently only a minor matter. A completely different detail attracted attention: the Queen’s green dress.
Queen becomes a cat and dog lady
Twitter user Peter Chiykowski called it “the perfect Photoshop template” and started a series of memes on which the Queen wears the most bizarre clothes. So she quickly became a cat and dog lady.
Is the Queen a secret Iron Maiden fan?
Peter Chiykowski also had other items of clothing in stock. He dressed Queen Elizabeth in a fan shirt of the heavy metal band Iron Maiden. Other users also took an example and had other motifs ready for the monarch.
If it were up to these Twitter users, the Queen could also be a “Star Wars” or “Star Trek” fan.
Queen wears Queen
Another Twitter user apparently believes that a coronavirus shirt would have been a good fit for the TV address.
Another user allowed himself a special joke: He made the band Queen on the top of Elizabeth II. “Queen wears Queen,” he wrote.
Does the Queen like “Game of Thrones”?
According to a report by “The Sun” the Queen is said to have several favorite series, including “Downton Abbey” or “Doctor Who”. Does “Game of Thrones” also belong?
However, there were also somewhat more suitable variants. So the queen also turned into a queen playing card.
Another version shows the Queen, who carries a photo of herself, who in turn carries a photo of herself, who in turn carries a photo of herself …
