The Naval Forces of Ukraine Strengthened with New Brigade of Maritime Unmanned Systems

The Naval Forces of Ukraine have replenished with a new brigade of maritime unmanned systems.

As part of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a new 385th brigade of special-purpose marine unmanned systems has appeared. On the Independence Day of Ukraine, August 24, President Volodymyr Zelensky publicly presented the battle flag to the new unit.

Information about this was published on the official website of the Office of the Ukrainian President.

Information about the 385th brigade was first announced on Independence Day. This is the first ever connection of maritime combat drones.

It is likely that the 385th brigade is behind the successful operations in the Black and Azov Seas, during which the Krymsky Bridge, the Olenegorsky Gornyak large landing ship, and the Russian tanker SIG were hit. Earlier it was reported that military intelligence (GUR MO) worked on these operations together with the Ukrainian Navy. However, now it turned out that a whole unit was created in the fleet for this task.

Maritime drones have shown their high efficiency. Thanks to them, Kyiv was able to return under its control a part of the Black Sea area, where, after a full-scale invasion, Russia tried to dominate. This reign did not last long.

The head of military intelligence, Kirill Budanov, recently stressed that maritime drones have proven to be very effective weapons. He assured that Kyiv had a large number of them, but for obvious reasons he did not name the number.

Earlier it was reported that the marine drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine sent Russian oil exports to the Black Sea in the “knockout”.

We also wrote that Danilov assessed the attacks of naval drones on Russian ships.
