The National Revenue Agency places under constant monitoring debtors – owners of establishments for meals throughout the country, who have tried to evade tax officials, the tax institution said.
In early February, teams from the Fiscal Control and public contractors carried out mass inspections of food establishments across the country that have old budget obligations. During the visits to the commercial establishments, the public contractors seized nearly BGN 97,000 from the tills in order to repay the debts. More than 30% of the individuals have started to pay their debts to the tax office after meetings with the representatives of NAA.
It was found that not a small number of the selected companies closed their sites during the inspections, and nearly 10% changed the companies they run, as well as the registration of the fiscal devices. Their representatives will be invited to urgent one-on-one meetings with the territorial directors to discuss commitments to repay their obligations to the treasury. In case they do not start paying their debt, additional measures will be taken against them, such as placing them under constant surveillance, establishing control proceedings, etc.
