The National Authority for Tunnels Inaugurates Phase 3 of the Third Line of the Metro, Including Imbaba Station and More

The National Authority for Tunnels is preparing to inaugurate the third phase of the third line of the metro, starting from the Sudan station to the Rawd Al-Farag axis station, passing through the stations of Imbaba, Al-Buhy, Al-Qawmiya Al-Arabiya and the Ring Road, after the completion of the trial operation without passengers in those stations.

The “seventh day” conducted a tour of the Imbaba metro station, which is located on Airport Street, at the two slides of the Silo train, which will serve the areas of Al-Munira, Al-Buhy, and Al-Matar Street. It is the first upper station in this stage, as it comes after the Sudan tunnel station.

The Imbaba metro station has its own design, as it has two ticket halls, including a hall built on top of the railway lines, which is upper and located in the part located on the side of the Airport Street above the railway. Passengers ascend from the hall to the platform on the third floor. It is on the ground floor, and passengers ascend directly to the platform on the third floor, and in order for passengers to cross from one platform to the other platform, they have to go up to the fourth floor and get off again.

This station is distinguished by the presence of escalators in every direction and every floor to facilitate the passage of passengers. It also has elevators to serve passengers of the elderly and the disabled, in addition to the regular stairs.

The route of the third phase of the project extends for a length of 17.7 km and includes 15 stations, from Ataba Station to Kit Kat Square, to branch north to Imbaba and reach the Ring Road, and another south to Mohandessin and Boulaq El Dakrour, passing through Wadi El Nile Street and League of Arab States, and then extending to Cairo University.

This phase is being implemented in three phases. The first phase is 4 km long, extending from Attaba to Kit Kat and includes (4) tunnel stations, which are “Nasser – Maspero – Safa Hegazy – Kit Kat”, which is the part that was operated in front of passenger traffic in October. the past.

The second phase extends for a length of 6.6 km, from the Kit Kat station to the final station at the Rawd Al-Faraj axis, and includes 6 stations. [محطة نفقية ( السودان ) وعدد4 محطات علوية ( إمبابة – البوهي – القومية العربية – الطريق الدائري) ومحطة سطحية ( المحطة النهائية عند محور روض الفرج ).

 

والمرحلة الثالثة، فيمتد بطـول 7.1 كم من محطة الكيت كات حتى جامعة القاهـرة وتشمل 5 محطـات [3 محطـات نفقيـة (التوفيقية – وادي النيل – جامعة الـدول) ومحطـة علويـة (جامعـة القـاهـرة) ومحطـة سطحية (بولاق الدكرور).
