Marianna and Maciej are 7 years apart. She didn’t always have the best relationship with her older brother, and they shared almost everything.
“My brother and I have completely different temperaments. In addition, the age difference between me and him was quite unfortunate and in a sense it took away our childhood together. (…) Maciek played the piano, and I sang or danced. Besides, “we shared a room for a long time. It was huge, so my parents separated us with a bookshelf,” Marianna said in the “Uroda Życie” magazine.
There was no special intimacy between us, and Maciek was not overly protective of me because I was his younger sister. Sometimes there are brothers who “daddy” their sisters. He wasn’t like that, but he was extremely dutiful. When my mother asked him to take me to or pick me up from ballet lessons, he did it without the slightest hesitation – I still remember it with fondness.
There were also pleasant moments that Marianna remembers very fondly.
“I remember right after high school [Maciek – przyp. red.] he founded the Po Żarcie cabaret and asked me for scenographic help, I felt very honored. The deep 90s, I was still very young. And happy that my older brother appreciates me and that he asked me for help – previously I was doing some set design work at the back of the PAKA festival in Rotunda,” she recalled in an interview for the “Uroda Życia” magazine in 2015.
Marianna was never interested in acting. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, and in 2011 she obtained a Ph.D.
