The MyES My English School training center arrives in Côte-d’Or

Launched in Lyon in 2018, the Italian school of English training for all ages, using an immersive, tailor-made and “human-focused” method, is set up in Dijon, in the Côte d’Or. The school is no longer entirely Italian: in 2020, Déborah Guillotin-Thyarion bought the brand for France from the Italian group My English School (60 training centers in Italy and Spain, 40 million euros in turnover) which had entrusted him with the management of its first training center in the capital of Gaul.

“With the Covid, the group had encountered cash flow problems, and its CEO had approached me to partner with him and develop the French market. But I preferred to redeem. We are ”master franchise” from Italy, and we will develop our own franchises”, summarizes the young CEO trained in languages and international trade.

For this takeover and the deployment of her network, in France, the young woman joined forces for the marketing part with Julie Guillotin, who studied in Dijon – which explains the choice of this first spin-off outside Lyon -, and with Fabio Grandi, educational director.

10 to 12 franchisees

The Dijon training center opened on June 13 in the city center, and the three partners are targeting 15 centers in France, including 10 to 12 franchisees by the end of 2024, with contacts already established in Grenoble, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Nantes , Toulon, Annecy, Montpellier, Saint-Etienne…

Set up as a model, the first school in Lyon, renamed MyES My English School, employs 3 teachers and a director of studies supervising 300 “active students”, according to Déborah Guillotin-Thyarion, and achieved a turnover of 750,000 euros in 2021, including 250,000 remotely. “We are not closing the door to distanciel, we created the offer during the Covid, but we give the possibility of doing both and mixing according to the constraints. »

The Dijon training center required an investment of 250,000 euros, made in part thanks to a bank loan, and employs 4 employees: a teacher, a director of studies, a consultant and a center director, for a total workforce of 32 people with the Lyon school and support services. The Qualiopi certification means that MyES My English School is eligible for the CPF, and for Dijon the small company is already looking to recruit new trainers on permanent contracts.
