The ‘Music for my ears’ program will visit Úbeda by the hand of Paco Ortega

The city of Úbeda will be one of the next stops of ‘Música para mis ears’, a Canal Sur Televisión program presented by Manuel Lombo and which has been conducting a musical tour of all the Andalusian provinces, summoning artists, both established and novices, whose roots are nurtured by the culture and tradition of Andalusia.

The recording in the town has been scheduled for next Tuesday, January 12, and will feature the musician, producer and composer from Ubetense Paco Ortega, who will travel from his residence in Madrid to participate in the program. He is counted on for an interview and a live performance, pending location. The idea is to shoot in a space, preferably covered, that in some way has to do with Ubetense heritage wealth.

Regarding music, Paco Ortega plans to perform an intimate and acoustic version, with voice and guitar, of his song ‘Úbeda en el corazón’, which was used at the time for a promotional campaign in the town. He gave an advance on social networks with a video of a small rehearsal, as he is preparing it thoroughly since the original song was orchestrated and the voice that sounded belonged to a singer. He considers it the best song that he can perform in his own city for all viewers, inviting them to get to know the municipality, its traditions, its architectural wealth and its human heritage.

In the musical aspect, during the program the twinning between Úbeda and Baeza, cities jointly declared a World Heritage Site, will also be displayed. And it is that the musician and composer from Baezano Pachi García ‘Alis’ has also been invited, who will sing along with Ortega the song ‘Alegría de vivir’. An immortal song by the ill-fated Ray Heredia that the Ubeta resident rescued and included in the soundtrack that they commissioned for ‘Sobreviviré’ (1999), the best-selling music album for a Spanish film in history.

‘Music for my ears’, which is broadcast on Sundays from half past nine at night, is a space where not only music and artists with a lot to say, but also historical heritage and gastronomy are accommodated of Andalusia. It also includes duets, unpublished collaborations, improvised moments, anecdotes, archive images with material never before seen on television and a long etcetera.
