The MPs decided the fate of the head of the National Health Insurance Institute Stanimir Mihailov.
They voted for his resignation, although he withdrew it today. The item was surprisingly included in the agenda of the National Assembly. Thus, the Health Insurance Fund will have a new manager.

The resignations of both the head of the Treasury and his deputy were submitted to the National Assembly in December. So far they have been “on logs”. Stanimir Mihailov is a PP-DB nominee. They declared themselves categorically against considering the resignation as withdrawn. This was reported during the discussion.
The proposal to include the discussion was made by the Speaker of the Parliament, Rosen Zhelyazkov. It was voted with 122 votes “for”, eight – “against” and 50 – “abstentions”. The decision states that the resignation was submitted on December 1, 2023 for personal reasons.
“We will appeal to the Constitutional Court whether it is possible for the National Assembly to release someone who does not want to be released, without any other reasons.” This was announced by MP Vasil Pandov from the PP-DB on the sidelines of the parliament.
