The Public Ministry (MP) must proceed ex officio against the Government authorities for the non-application of the vaccine against covid-19 to Hondurans, said the lawyer German Licona on Tuesday, who also indicated that the State through the Ministry of Health is obliged to provide health to all citizens.
In the particular case of anticovid vaccines, the legal professional said that the authorities must buy the drugs and take them to Hondurans throughout the national territory.
However, the robed man ignored that due to “negligence” and manifest irresponsibility the authorities would incur the crime of non-compliance with the duties of public officials because they are the ones called to acquire the vaccines to apply them to Hondurans.
Given the increase in deaths and the rise in infections in the country’s hospitals, the interviewee pointed out that the MP is obliged to act ex officio to verify that the donated or purchased vaccines reach all people.
Licona also indicated that since the Sputnik V vaccines had been purchased, the authorities had to make sure that the contract would periodically deliver the doses and according to the need of citizens to immunize them against the coronavirus.
