After the rest day, the Giro d’Italia resumes, with the 17th stage: Canazei – Sega di Ala, of 193 km. A long mountain stage, almost two hundred kilometers long and with a finish with two important passes linked to the descent of the first.

Tough terrain after the break which does not always suit everyone and the first opportunity to find out if there is anyone who wants to challenge Egan Bernal and Ineos or if he wants to grow in the general classification looking for the podium.

The Giro defines it like this: “High mountain stage with a first part totally downhill and an uphill finish. The route runs in sequence through Val di Fassa, Val di Fiemme and the Pinè plateau. Once in Trento, the race follows the right bank of the Adige river. After Mori (from Avio), the race tackles the San Valentino pass, followed by a demanding descent to Chizzola and then the left bank of the Adige in Ala and, after Sdruzzinà, the final climb.
Last kilometers
Final climb of about 11 km. The first 9.5 km are practically always above 10% with prolonged peaks around 15% (maximum 17/18%). After the last hairpin bends, you enter the Passo Fittanze plateau, where the slopes soften until you reach the finish line on the asphalt. “
