The most profitable games of 2021 on Steam. Battlefield, GTA, Halo, Forza and more on the list

Valve has published lists of the best productions from 2021. The lists are, as always, very interesting because Steam is enormously popular in the PC gaming market, and it is undoubtedly the platform that sets the standard in some way.

On the bestseller list, we can check the games with the highest gross income – Valve counts sales, microtransactions and interest in add-ons. The company collects bills from January 1 to December 15, 2021.

“As for the new titles on this list, 2021 was particularly successful both in the platinum category and in the overall list. Six games made their debut in the platinum category this year (New World, Valheim, NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, Apex Legends, Battlefield ™ 2042 and Dead by Daylight), and over a third of the entire list consists of games that made the bestseller list for the next time first. Many of these debuts are titles released in 2021, but a handful of older titles have also made it to the Top 100 thanks to the continuing passion of their creators and the support of a dedicated gaming community. “

Valve is re-revealing games in five categories, but below you’ll only see platinum rankings (rank 1-12). It’s worth noting that Steam doesn’t exactly show which game achieved the best score, it just presents the TOP 12 from each list.

As you can see, all the lists are full of certainty like GTA 5, FIFA 22, Valheim, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive or Destiny 2 – these games are still very popular, so we could be sure that they would be included on Valve’s lists.

The situation with Battlefield 2042 looks interesting, because, as we know, the game faces problems, but it still found itself in the two most important rankings on Steam – the biggest premieres and the highest revenues in general. It is definitely worth noting that in both rankings, games from the free-2-play segment played a significant role, which confirms one thing: players are willing to invest in such items.
