It is an interesting brand that despite a famous slip has always offered interesting vehicles. In particular, this new eco-friendly SUV could prove to be a competitor for European brands.

Not all Italian motorists know the Ssangyong brand, on the contrary, unless you are big fans of off-road vehicles and SUVs, it is highly likely that you have never heard of the Korean company that is about to enter the European market with a very interesting new vehicle. For the uninitiated, however, the South Korean house born in 1954 is precisely the one that produced the Rodius, a vehicle that aroused a lot of hilarity in our country for its clumsy and ungainly line.

But be careful to judge before having experimented with your own hands: if the Rodius has proved to be a real meme on the European car market, other vehicles of the house have been very successful. This is the case with SUVs like the Actyon or the Korando – the latter now highly sought after by collectors – famous above all for their particular line that is hardly confused with that of vehicles of the same category.

In these hours, an interesting announcement has arrived: Ssangyong intends to put a new 4X4 on sale here, which could turn out to be the winning weapon to raise awareness of the brand even on one of the most crowded and complicated markets in the world.

Completamente eco friendly

From a vehicle that bears the name of a national park heritage of Unesco, we certainly could not expect better: the Ssangyong Torres which will arrive shortly on the European market is completely electric. The only way to get one with a traditional engine would be a nice trip to South Korea where the vehicle will also be available with other engines.

The strong point of Torres is the line, little but sure. Whether you love it or hate it, that of this vehicle is certainly not confused with the competition except for some small resemblance to the old SUVs of the Jeep brand. The vehicle has an interesting amount of options and can be specially outfitted to improve off-road performance by making the journey for the seven passengers comfortable even on rough roads.

The only problem, we have to wait a bit: the vehicle will arrive on the European market at the end of 2023 while in South Korea it could be available a few months in advance. The price shouldn’t be very high, making the Torres even more tempting: it will presumably fluctuate between 40,000 and 30,000 Euros, given the market segment in which the vehicle goes to insert. Who knows that Torres may not prove to be a surprising alternative to more noble and famous vehicles in Europe.
