The Ministry of Health will have to dispose of about half a million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine with an expiration date of 31 October. Expired drugs have already been withdrawn from vaccination points and centers.
This was reported in the Ministry of Health, responding to a request from the publication. “Gordon”… It is noted that the exact number of doses of AstraZeneca, which will have to be disposed of, is unknown. This will be clarified before November 3.
“As of November 1, there are about 500 thousand doses of AstraZeneca vaccine left with an expiration date until October 31, 2021, the exact amount due to a possible spill (for example, nine out of 10 doses were used from the bottle) will be known until November 3”, – says the message.
According to the Ministry of Health, as of today in Ukraine there are more than 1 million doses of the vaccine from AstraZeneca, which expires on November 30. This vaccine will be used at vaccination points for both the first and second vaccinations.
In addition, the department recalled that after the first dose of AstraZeneca, the second vaccination can be done with an mRNA vaccine, such a drug is, for example, Comirnaty.
Now in Ukraine there are only 8.5 million doses of vaccines from three manufacturers and citizens can choose any of them for vaccination.
