The branches will send written proposals regarding the realization of the production

The Minister of Agriculture and Food, Kiril Vatev, discussed the first amendment of the Strategic Plan for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas for the program period 2023-2027 with branch organizations of livestock breeders and the comments received on the proposed changes by the European Commission at a meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Assoc. Deyan Stratev, the Executive Director of the BABH, Dr. Svetlozar Patarinski, and the Executive Director of the IASRH Georgi Yordanov.

Minister Vatev stated that it is important that the control is carried out in a maximally simplified mode for farmers, and that the requirements are easy and enforceable. He presented concrete examples of successful implementation and management of livestock farms.

The team of the Ministry of Health and the livestock breeders discussed the refinement of the methodology for control of the realized production of dairy and meat animals within the framework of interventions for tied support. The experts presented examples of the control of coupled support for livestock farmers in other Member States and sought the opinion of farmers on these practices.

The representatives of the branch organizations of the farmers stated that they will send specific proposals related to the realization of the production from the “Livestock” sector. Once they are received by the Ministry of Health, a follow-up meeting will be scheduled in due course to discuss them.
