Engineer Tariq Al Mulla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, lost the final experimental operation of the new complex project for the production of high-value petroleum products for the Egyptian Refining Company in Mostorod, Greater Cairo, which was completed in cooperation with the private sector with investments amounting to $ 4.3 billion.
During his tour, Al-Mulla continued the completion of the success of the final operation experiments of the new complex, marking the full operation of all production units with a capacity of 4.7 million tons annually of various high-value petroleum products such as high-octane gasoline and diesel with Euro 5 European quality specifications, gas stove, aviation fuel, naphtha, coal and others. The precautionary measures necessary in the complex to protect workers from the Corona virus and regular disinfection and sterilization workplaces.
The Minister was accompanied during the tour by Eng. Abed Azal Al-Regal, CEO of the Petroleum Authority, Dr. Ahmed Heikal, President of the Egyptian Refining Company and Dr. Muhammad Saad, the managing director of the company and two vice-presidents of the Petroleum Refining, Manufacturing, Transport and Chemical Distribution Committee, Ashraf Al-Shami, Eng. Ayman Naguib, and Eng. Mahmoud Naji, Deputy Minister for Transport and Distribution of Petroleum Products.
Engineer Tareq Al-Mulla stated during the tour that the new complex is one of the most important and most recent major petroleum projects to be opened and fully entered into the service, which comes within the framework of an ambitious program being implemented by the ministry to develop the refining industry and increase Egypt’s refining capacities and production capacities of petroleum products to secure the needs of the local market, stressing that the ministry is proceeding Moving forward in the implementation of this program and the implementation of a number of new refining projects in Alexandria, Assiut and Suez, pointing out that all these projects represent the embodiment of President Sisi’s view of the importance of investing in establishing productive projects according to a Death technologies and specifications that enhance the added value of the resources of Egypt and contribute to securing the domestic market needs of petroleum products, and is an excellent model Mostorod complex so its important role in converting low-value fuel oil into high quality petroleum products.
He added that the new complex is one of the fruits of the restoration of political and economic stability in Egypt, which provided a favorable climate for the establishment of the project and the removal of obstacles and challenges it faced, pointing out that the partnership between the state and the private sector in this vital project is a distinguished model, and that its success is an incentive for all to establish similar projects.
The inspection tour of the complex witnessed a review that was not implemented in the stages of the experimental operation of the complex during the past months, which included the hydrocracking units of diesel, coking, vacuum distillation, sulfur treatment, naphtha treatment and repair, diesel treatment, hydrogen production unit, complex facilities, and a unit for wastewater treatment, and the complex relies on the inputs of its production on diesel The product is from Cairo Refinery with Mostorod.
