As a preamble to the Diamond League, the Athlétisme Sud 17 team won the minimal national title in the 800-200-200-800 meter mixed relay on Saturday June 18

All eyes were on the Charléty stadium in Paris, Saturday June 18, for the athletics of the two Charentes. Not only on the French stage of the Diamond League – even if the Renaud brothers and Valentin Lavillenie were present in the pole vault competition: the eldest Renaud finished 2nd with 5.80 m when Valentin was content with the 6th place with 5.65m.

In Charléty, in the preamble of the stars, the national finals of the 800-200-200-800 meter relays (known as 8-2-2-8) of the minimal category were held with Athletics Sud 17, in mixed, and Grand Angoulême Athlétisme, for boys. And the Saintais will long remember this June 18 as the day of the call for the gold medal…

Angoumoisins 5th

Already in sight this winter on the cross, Leila Hakim launched the Saintonge relay perfectly. In the aftermath, Hilaz Mendy, Sacha Portejoie and Baptiste Ruske ensured the crossings to win the mixed relay, ahead of Tarn Sud Athlétisme and Stade Rennais. A new national title to the credit of AS 17, already titled in the 4x100m junior relay last summer. Grand Angoulême finished in 5th place in the 8-2-2-8 minimal boys.
