In order to come to the aid of the Ukrainian people, the Métropole de Lyon will allocate emergency aid of 50,000 euros to the Alliance Urgences collective. This brings together the non-governmental organizations Action Contre la Faim, Care, Handicap International, Médecins du Monde, Plan International and Solidarités International.
This emergency aid will be voted on at the next Metropolitan Council on March 14. It will be used for food, medical (emergency care), monetary assistance, hygiene solutions, shelter, access to water as well as for psychological and psychosocial support.
The Metropolis of Lyon also works closely with the Polish city of Lodz, one of its partner cities, which welcomes many refugees in order to meet their needs, particularly in terms of donations of materials and reception of children.
Through the mobilization of firefighters from the SDMIS, complementary actions of coordination, recovery and transport of materials from collections by municipalities and district town halls are performed daily.

A deliberation will be submitted to the next Metropolitan Council. We are doing everything we can to provide our support in the face of this increasingly escalating war. ⤵️ pic.twitter.com/tsTNzHJpUA
