The Met Opera Orchestra of New York will stop in Paris, London and Baden-Baden (Germany) at the end of June/beginning of July. On the program of the 5 performances offered, works by Verdi, Tchaikovsky, Berlioz, and Bernstein.

In 2002, the Met Opera orchestra performed in Salzburg, Lucerne, Baden-Baden and Wiesbaden. It was the last international tour of the great New York formation. Initially scheduled for 2021 but canceled due to the health crisis, the return of the Met outside the United States will therefore take place in Europe from June 27 to July 2.

Under the baton of its musical director Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the Met Opera orchestra will perform for 2 dates (June 27 and 28) at the Philharmonie de Paris, at the Barbican Center in London (June 29) and at the Festspielhaus in Baden -Baden (July 1 and 2).

At the Philharmonie de Paris, on June 27, the Met Opera will perform excerpts from works by Leonard Bernstein (West Side Story), Matthew Aucoin (King Lear sketches) and Piotr Illitch Tchaikovsky (Opening Romeo and Juliet) and above all, Act IV ofOtello by Giuseppe Verdi, performed by Angel Blue (Desdemona) and tenor Russell Thomas (Otello). This program will also be offered at the Barbican in London and in Baden-Baden on July 1.
