The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Eng. Dr. Miroslav Marinov laid wreaths and flowers in front of the memorial plaque of the fallen foresters in the yard of the Forestry University, Sofia. A minute’s silence was held in memory of the fallen foresters and foresters in defense of their professional and patriotic duty. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of IAG, foresters, forest officials and the rector of the Forestry University, Assoc. Dr. Hristo Mihailov.
This year The week of the forest will be celebrated from April 1 to 7 and will be under the motto “The forest is life and … common responsibility!”
During his visit to the educational institution, Deputy Minister Marinov opened an exhibition of paintings by teachers from Forestry University. “I am impressed by the exhibition and I congratulate the management of the university and all the artists that on the eve of the Week of the Forest, in addition to laying wreaths and flowers in memory of our predecessors, we are also opening the exhibition, which I hope will become traditional,” he added.
In the lobby in front of the Rector’s Office of the central building of the university, the works of 13 graduates with different techniques (oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel) are exhibited, inspired by the perfection and mystery of nature. Apart from them, posters with photos, captured shots of lovers of natural beauty – former graduates of LTU, as well as children’s works that illustrate children’s love for the forest and its inhabitants are also shown.
The exhibition can be viewed from today until April 2, 2024.
