While four cases of coronavirus were for the moment known in the village of La Balme-de-Sillingy, in Haute-Savoie, the mayor of the commune announced this Friday morning on BFMTV that two other inhabitants had contracted the virus.
“Last night, we had four cases, this morning we have six so we decided to take all the necessary measures,” said François Daviet on BFMTV, equipped with a protective mask.

“I’m pretty worried”
“They are relatives” of man infected after trip to Italy, and whose wife, wife and friend subsequently contracted the virus. The latter had participated in an evening on February 15, in the presence of 120 guests. “It is quite possible that there are many more cases in our town,” said the mayor, who admits “being concerned”.
“We are in the process of organizing to close a certain number of establishments in the commune,” he said, notably the crèches, the leisure center and the municipal halls.
A number of residents have been tested and remain confined to their homes pending the results. No general containment measure for the population of La Balme-de-Sillingy has yet been decided, says François Daviet.
