The Luton defender scored an own goal by running into Haaland’s bomb with his face

Manchester City temporarily took the lead and leads by two points in the English league, after beating Luton very smoothly, 5-1, on Saturday afternoon. Liverpool and Arsenal, on the other hand, only play on Sunday, and if they win, they can both overtake the Manchester team.

Struggling with a lot of injuries and heading towards relegation, Luton had no luck in this match either. So much so that they found themselves behind with an own goal after a minute and a half, after the Japanese Hasioka Daiki ran into Haaland’s badly hit shot, which bounced and went defenseless into the goal.

The second goal had to wait until the second half, scored by Kovačić in the 64th minute, and ten minutes later, Haaland scored from the penalty spot after Doku was brought down inside the penalty area. Not long after, Luton improved, but Doku first scored the fourth with a solo finish, then he gave a nice assist to Guardiol, so in the end City won very easily.

Earlier, Newcastle surprisingly beat Tottenham 4-0, and in the last match of the day, Manchester United played 2-2 with Bournemouth. Both times, Bruno Fernandes had to make up for it, after United fell behind, but they can’t be satisfied with the draw either, because now Newcastle is already ahead of them in the table, and they are even further away from the E group stage.
