In 1997, Victoria and David met for the first time. And from that moment on, the top footballer’s heart started beating faster. His teammates confirm that his goal was to marry her. “He was on the phone with Victoria every second,” said footballer Gary Neville. “He seemed addicted. He would drive four hours to spend twenty minutes with her.” Not only David, but also Victoria was immediately charmed by the footballer. “Some said I was stalking him, but I just wanted to see him,” she reveals.
They kept their relationship behind closed doors for the first three months. “We met in parking lots and it’s not as shady as it sounds.” When they subsequently appeared together in public for the first time, there was an “explosion”, Beckham confirms. The duo quickly emerged as a “power couple” and appeared in many campaigns together. From clothing designers, health and fitness experts to fashion magazines and manufacturers of perfumes and cosmetics.
Their relationship gained momentum. They tied the knot just two years later and soon after welcomed four children: Brooklyn (24), Romeo (21), Cruz (18) and Harper (12). And just like then, they are still in love. The secret behind their successful relationship? “Make time for each other,” David explains. “That’s why we make such a strong couple.”
