the “logistics in a peaceful dense district” project on the Zac Gratte-Ciel is selected

The second call for the “Sustainable City Demonstrators” expression of interest attracted 30 projects. Among all these proposals, it is “logistics in peaceful dense neighborhoods” that caught the eye. A project led by the Métropole de Lyon and the Société d’Equipement et d’Aménagement du Rhône et de Lyon (SERL).

In a press release, the Metropolis of Lyon proudly announces: “The project “logistics in a peaceful dense district” has been selected for its innovative character”. The local authorities of the Metropolis of Lyon and Villeurbanne will combine their forces to obtain a “sustainable city” by 2030.

This project will be developed on the ZAC Gratte-Ciel. Béatrice Vessiller, vice-president of Lyon Metropolis for urban planning and the living environment, explains the desired result in concrete terms. “Ultimately, travel will be profoundly modified, as in several other metropolitan areas. Lyon ways, new tram lines… so many facilities that will change collective habits and have a positive impact on the living environment. »

The different steps

The ambitions of “logistics in peaceful dense neighbourhoods” extend until 2030. During this period, the objective is to gradually put in place an enhancement of the living environment. By 2024, they want to “create a sober and efficient worksite organization model in urban centers, in terms of logistics and waste management”.

In 2027, the Metropolis of Lyon and Villeurbanne want to “develop a new model for supplying dense urban centers” and “demonstrate that it is possible to offer a quality living environment in dense urban centers”.

For 2030, the main objective is to involve the inhabitants of Lyon by setting up “a lever for inclusion through employment and involving the inhabitants to co-construct new consumption uses. An important step for the SERL Group: “The Gratte-Ciel district and the partnership of actors that it brings together constitute an ideal opportunity to experiment with new virtuous practices, which can then inspire many city center districts that meet the same issues. Says Vincent Malfère.
