The former mayor and president of the PP in the city, Jesús Vázquez, has been in charge of announcing the “temporary suspension” of the government agreement with Democracia Ourensana.

Also, today the Mayor removed the councilors Miguel Caride, leader of the critics, and Manuel Álvarez; and two other councilors for Democracia Ourensana, María Draja and María Teresa Rodríguez, have renounced their powers. After the resignation of the councilor for culture last week, Jácome is therefore left with the sole support scored by Armando Ojea. The national spokesperson for the BNG, Ana Pontón, has asked for a leftist alternative in Ourense. Consider that the right has to “turn away” and blames the president of the Xunta and the Galician PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, for the “spectacle” of Democracia Ourensana and the Popular Party.

Also the secretary general of the PSdeG has urged the PP to facilitate a solution for Ourense, where “must be in opposition”. Gonzalo Caballero claims that the socialist list was the most voted in the municipal elections and laments the “chaos” caused by the pact of the popular with Democracia Ourensana.
