The Liga 1 program is expected to resume on 25 or 26 November 2022

TIME.CO, Jakarta – When will the Liga 1 calendar start again? PSSI president general Mochamad Iriawan has given his warnings.

He said the national post-tragedy football transformation program at Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, is expected to be completed in November 2022 so the league can get back on track.

“On behalf of the Indonesian football team and PSSI, I thank FIFA and AFC for providing assistance with what needs to be improved in Indonesian football,” Iriawan said at a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday.

The man who is familiarly called Iwan Bule also relayed the timeline of the Indonesian football improvement project carried out by the Indonesian Football Transformation Task Force (Satgas).

The task force is made up of representatives from FIFA, AFC, PSSI and the Indonesian government.

First, starting today, Thursday (13 October), there will be a meeting between FIFA, AFC, PSSI and the government of Indonesia in Jakarta.

“This activity is about discussing the ‘timeline’ and the ‘action plan’,” Iwan said.

Then on Monday (October 17) a FIFA meeting with PSSI and FIFA with AFC will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a coordination meeting and confirmation of the names of the members of the Task Force for the transformation of Indonesian football. The meeting is expected to be attended by the FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

The next day, Infantino will meet with President Joko Widodo in Jakarta to seal a joint commitment between FIFA, PSSI and the Indonesian government.

“President Joko Widodo has a concern for football. He knows the limits of football, what the government can do and what FIFA can do and so on,” Iwan said.

Then, on October 28, FIFA “football for school” was held to ensure the safety of football in particular.

Then, on November 16, Infantino attended the G-20 summit in Bali to communicate that Indonesia was a safe place for international events and was ready to restart the championship.

If all goes as planned, the Indonesian championship will restart on 25 or 26 November 2022.
