Lidé.cz service will end its operation on 14 December 2020. The main reason is the long-term non-fulfillment of financial expectations associated with its operation and the fact that Seznam.cz has been focusing for the last few years mainly on the development of its homepage, advertising systems and its own content services.
We have been considering the meaning of the Lidé.cz service for the last few years, when it hardly earns money for its own operation and maintenance. In addition, it is becoming more and more demanding, because some users upload photos or texts with sexual overtones to their profiles and their control or removal requires the involvement of a multi-member team of administrators,

Seznam.cz plans to close the service on December 14. From today, its users will see a banner on the Lidé.cz page notifying them that the operation is about to end. Until then, it is possible to request the download of photos and personal data from your own profile. After the specified date, it will no longer be possible to download any data, and Seznam.cz will not back up or archive them in any way.
People.cz was originally created in 1997 as an e-mail list, which changed to a dating site in 2014 after the last major redesign. According to NetMonitor data, more than 181,000 real users visited the service in October this year.
