The Liberadxs Festival was held on Saturday at Padre Hurtado Parkand fulfilled celebrating the progressive return to normality after the pandemic with a diverse, powerful party that had Chilean music as a common denominator.
And it is that although the pandemic still keeps the whole world in precaution and health restrictions, little by little some things are getting in order and, step by step, we try to get a little closer to the normality that we had until before the crisis. sanitary.
The necessary reactivation to feel liberated
The slogan of Festival liberadXs has always been to celebrate, as far as possible, the return of music to the mass stages. And the meeting on Saturday April 9 could not have been better because, with a large audience that behaved up to the task and with a variety of national artists, the Padre Hurtado Park was filled with music to realize that our national industry is going through a wonderful creative moment.
And that was how the public felt, enjoyed and applauded each one of the shows that, successively, went through the two stages.
In addition to the obvious mental reactivation that leaving home to see live music means, the festival is one more of the ways that all small and medium-sized entrepreneurs linked to music have to try to get out of the complicated situation that has been experienced since the pandemic started.
Because we know that the cancellation of massive shows is not only a hard blow for those who work delivering their art with a microphone, but it is also a tragedy for the thousands of people who are silently responsible for the shows to exist.
From the editors, the sound technicians to the gastronomic entrepreneurs who accompany the recitals with their food carts, all of them have been deeply affected by the pandemic and the absence of concerts.
That is why festivals like Liberadxs are a vitamin for the economy and for an industry that is slowly getting up.
Diversity Made In Chile
One of the great feats of the organization was to put on the same day a group of bands and soloists that we rarely see on the same bill. From the ranchera cumbia of Zúmbale Primo to the nostalgic pop of Supernovagoing through music revelations like Soulfia, AKA 420, AkaTumami.
Going through current phenomena such as Princess Alba, AKA 420, Pablo Chil-E The Bankruptcy.
And reaching the consecrated sound, safe and chanted by everyone, in the mouth of artists as relevant as Halloween night, The Distracted Moral, Juanito Ayala, Evelyn Cornejo, La Sonora by Tomy Rey The From Saloon.
All that lineup was displayed in front of thousands of attendees who enjoyed and ate and drank and smoked in a space that was at the height of a party like this.
May it be repeated!
It is true that there is still a long way to go before the pandemic loosens up, and you have to take care of yourself. However, it is true that culture and shows are vital, and their absence has had a devastating effect worldwide.
We will never be able to overcome these two years in which activities such as theater, cinema, music and everything that requires a present audience have been disadvantaged to the point that they almost died. That is why these festivals and concerts are the way to meet again, to laugh again and to grow again together with the artists we love so much.
Here we leave you some images of the LiberadXs Festival.
