The lawyer, former deputy and co-founder of the PP of Salamanca, Alberto Estella, dies

Alberto Estella from Salamanca has died at the age of 82. Deputy for the UCD in the Constituent Legislature (1977) and in the First Legislature (1979-1982), Estella was married and had two children and two grandchildren.

A lawyer from 1966 until his leap into politics, he completed his Baccalaureate at the Salesianos de Salamanca, and studied Law at the University of Salamanca, after which he worked as a Lawyer at the Salamanca State Law Office. In addition, he was also a co-founder of the Popular Party in Salamanca.

Alberto Estella held the position of deputy until November 1982 and until then he had been, among others, general secretary of the minister attached to the president and advisor to the Minister of Transport and later to the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries. During his time in Congress he was spokesman for two years in the Transport Commission, and he chaired the RTVE Commission and belonged to seven Commissions.

In addition, he was also linked to the Governing Board of the Salamanca Bar Association and is a member of the Board of Trustees of its Foundation and the Social Council of the University of Salamanca, where he was a professor at the School of Legal Practice for several courses. Elected member of the Center for Salamancan Studies, he has coordinated the books “The transition in Salamanca”, “La Plaza Mayor de Salamanca” and “Agriculture in Parliament”. He belonged to the Governing Board of the Salamanca 2002 Consortium, European Capital of Culture and coordinated the Cultural Program of the City Council “Salamanca 2005. Plaza Mayor de Europa”, commemorating the 250 years of the Plaza Mayor.
