Stanisław Witek died on Saturday (April 13) after a long battle with illness. His death was announced by the PiS branch from Jawor. The husband of the former Speaker of the Sejm is remembered by politicians from the United Right camp.
“He taught young generations to share goodness, showed them what was most important in life. Stanisław Witek passed away after a long and serious illness. Today we say goodbye to him. I express my condolences to Elżbieta Witek and the entire family of the deceased,” wrote the leader of Sovereign Poland.
The funeral of the former district councilor from Jawor took place on Wednesday, April 17. Many politicians took part in the ceremony. Among them, the leaders of PiS were Jarosław Kaczyński, Jacek Kurski, Stanisław Karczewski, Beata Kempa, Mariusz Błaszczak and Andrzej Adamczyk. Although they were not there, Speaker of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia, former Prime Minister Beata Szydło and President Andrzej Duda sent their wreaths. However, the most important place was taken by the wreaths from the family – in the very center in front of the coffin there was the one from his wife, made of red roses. Next to the coffin, on a special stand, there was a wreath of white roses from Gabriela’s daughter.

During Holy Mass touching words were spoken at the funeral.
— He had this habit of reading newspapers. When he found some wisdom there, he pasted it into his notebook. He had his favorite one, which he quoted to his children and himself. What? “Make friends with your guardian angel.” Mrs. Ela will have a guardian angel. Dear daughters, you are receiving a powerful guardian angel, said a local priest during the sermon, emphasizing that the deceased had sensitivity.
During the funeral, Elżbieta Witek spoke and through tears thanked her relatives and friends for their support.
— Sometimes you came from so far away to be with me on such a day. I am never alone, said the moved politician.
After the Holy Mass, Stanisław Witek’s body was taken to the municipal cemetery in Jawor.
