The Kremlin believes that there are currently no grounds for a peace treaty with Ukraine in Russia, reports UNIAN.

This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, to American journalists from The New York Times. According to him, Russia will continue aggressive actions against Ukraine in the near future.

The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, spoke about the presidential elections in Russia in 2024. In the conversation, he said who is likely to become the winner of the race.

Journalists also asked whether Moscow wanted to control new Ukrainian territories that were not occupied by Russian troops.

“No. We just want to control all those territories that are now written in our constitution as ours,” says Peskov.

He is convinced that in next year’s elections, Putin will not only win, but also receive a very large percentage of support.

“Putin will be re-elected next year with over 90 percent of the vote,” he said.

He also pointed out that the Russian side currently sees no reason for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, so the special operation will continue for the foreseeable future.

When asked if Russia wants to get more Ukrainian territories, Peskov said that the Russian side wants to control those lands that are included in the country’s Constitution.

“No. We just want to control all those territories that are now written in our constitution as ours,” says Peskov.

Former Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov said that Putin’s political influence since the beginning of the war in Ukraine has significantly decreased and he will certainly lose power within the next year and a half at the most.

Russian opposition politician, sociologist and journalist Igor Yakovenko explained that if Putin is “withdrawn” from the Kremlin regime, it will immediately collapse, and the war against Ukraine itself will end.

Another Russian opposition leader, Ilya Ponomarev, predicted the fall of the Putin regime as a result of a military defeat in Ukraine. He also believes that Putin may not live to see Russia’s elections next year.

Russian political scientist Dmitry Oreshkin reported that the 2024 elections being prepared in Russia have no political meaning, and their results are predictable.
