The Klaipėda district resident card will encourage you to feel like a real resident of the district

At the next Thursday’s meeting of the Klaipėda District Municipal Council, as many as 10 draft decisions are scheduled to be considered, which are related to the resident card that will be launched in April.
It is cheaper in cultural institutions
With the approval of the Council, residents of the Klaipėda district who have this card will receive a 50 percent discount on educations and events held in the six cultural centers of the Klaipėda district, the Jonas Lankutis Public Library, the Gargždai Regional Museum, and the Tourism Information Center. In addition, TIC will also not charge cardholders a surcharge for souvenirs or tourist paraphernalia.
Discount cards will also be available at the “Minijos” cinema. All films, except those shown in 3D format, will receive a 20 percent discount for adults. The Gargždai sports center will also apply even several different discounts. For example, cardholders will receive a 10 percent discount for renting a hall for physical training, a 15 percent discount will be applied to the rental of padel courts and an indoor tennis court, and even 50 percent less will be the price of interventional training for the promotion of physical activity organized by the Sports Center.
And the business will apply discounts
The municipality of Klaipėda district does not intend to limit itself only to the institutions of the municipality of Klaipėda district. The city of Klaipėda also responded to the request to participate in the Klaipėda district resident card program, which gave the district residents the opportunity to attend cultural events in the city at a discount. “A 25 percent discount will be applied to the holders of our card at the events of the Klaipėda Concert Hall, Cultural Communications Center, and the Fisherman’s Chamber. The Palanga swimming pool is planning to join the wider range of services for the residents of the district. In the proposals, 10 percent discounts for season tickets and 20 percent for one-time visits are to be applied to residents,” informs the Public Relations and Cooperation Department of the District Municipality Administration.
Business is also connected to the resident card project. Currently, there are already 29 different business enterprises that will apply one or another discounts to the residents of the district. On average, the amount of the discount will be 10 percent, but there are also such companies that will apply a 15 or even 30 percent discount to the card holder. The spectrum of companies’ activities is diverse – from construction to the business of cafes or online stores.

Festive presentation – in April
Physical resident cards are currently being produced, and the mobile app is being programmed. The official presentation of the resident’s card is planned for April 4. at 5 p.m. In Municipality Square, Gargždais. During it, those gathered will be able to take out both a physical resident’s card and download apps to their phones.
At the event, you will be able to taste coffee, eat popcorn, and see other activities for free. By the way, the first 2 thousand people who take out a physical resident card or register in the mobile app will win various prizes. True, this will not be just a discount app. It will be a modern tool that will allow you to receive feedback from residents as well – they will be able to participate in surveys, a calendar of events will be available here, as well as vote for Participatory Budget projects, etc.
The aim of the municipality is to use this card to encourage residents of the Klaipėda district not only to attend cultural events of the district or the city, but also to participate in education, sports, other activities, to get more involved in the life of the district and to feel like a real resident of the district.
