The Kimera EVO37 is almost sold out

The Kimera EVO37 is an ambitious restomod project created by Kimera Automobili, a small car manufacturer founded by the pilot and entrepreneur Luca Betti. The goal is to re-propose the legend in a modern key Launch 037which obtained numerous successes in the rallying field. The definitive version was presented at last year’s edition of Milano Auto Classica, this year the Italian sports car will return to the Italian show dedicated to classic cars (18-20 November) with three specimens in the colors of the Italian flag.

This 2022 has been an important year for Kimera Automobili, protagonist with its EVO37 of a world tour. Last summer, a blue Kimera destined for a wealthy American customer was the protagonist of the Monterey Car Week, in California, a famous event dedicated to the most beautiful cars of yesterday and today.

At the end of 2022 the Kimera will have product in total 6 cars. The target for 2023 onwards is 12 cars a year until the limited run runs out. Of these 37 “pieces”, I am alone 3 cars still “free”with 34 of these already assigned to owners from all over the world: Holland, Switzerland, Belgium, Japan, United States, Costa Rica, England, Monte Carlo, France, Spain, Germany, Ukraine, Puerto Rico, Korea and Italy.

Aesthetically, the influence of the original is very strong, Kimera Automobili has in fact updated the Lancia 037, making it more modern and muscular. The team of technicians who had participated in the development of the Lancia 037 evolved the original chassis, while the suspensions were completely redesigned, using adjustable Öhlins shock absorbers of the latest generation.

To push the Kimera EVO37 we find the same 4 cylinders line of the time, which however was re-engineered from scratch and built by Italtecnica, under the supervision of Claudio Lombardi, who had supervised the construction of the original engines. With a displacement of 2.15 litres, thanks to the double supercharging (turbo and supercharger) is credited with 505 HP and 550Nm of torque, and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The power is transferred to the rear wheels and there is a limited slip differential.

The price of this real Made in Italy jewel? It starts from 540,000 euros.
