MusicThe KetnetBand is getting new meat in the tub. Monday morning it was announced in ‘Kingsize Live’ on Ketnet that three new members will join the band. For most fans of the youth band, the new members will be no strangers. Maarten Cop, who also plays in ‘Family’, Jasper Heyman and Lotte Stevens, the new Mega Mindy, will join Gloria Monserez, Maureen Vanherberghen and Giovanni Kemper.

The three new members in turn replace Elindo Avastia, Michiel De Meyer and Sien Wynants. Wynants previously announced that she will also stop as a Ketnetwrapster. In its more than twenty years of existence, the KetnetBand has seen many well-known members pass by: Mark Tijsmans, Kobe Vanherwegen, Erika Van Tielen and Veronique Leysen, among others, were once part of the band.

With about 100 shows a year, the new members already have a busy schedule ahead of them, but that doesn’t deter them: “As a little boy I dreamed of being on stage for years! I’m super happy that I can now make that dream come true,” said Maarten Cop. The brand new Mega Mindy is also looking forward to it: “As a child I roared along with all the intros of the Ketnet programs. Now I can do that unabashedly as a member of the KetnetBand.”

Gloria, Giovanni, Lotte, Jasper, Maarten and Maureen alternate: during a performance three of them are on stage. Fans of the band can see the new line-up at work for the first time from April. The band will tour in 2022 with a brand new show.
