The issue of the invasion of Ukraine made the Russian Foreign Minister WO from the G20 Meeting

Jakarta

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reported to have walked out of the G20 Foreign Ministers meeting in Bali. Lavrov reportedly walked out due to criticism of the invasion Russia ke Ukraine.

Reporting from Reuters on Saturday (9/7/2022), Lavrov left the room during a meeting held on Friday (8/7/2022). During the meeting, the G20 Foreign Ministers called for an end to the Russian invasion and the wheat blockade in Ukraine.

The forum is the first face-to-face meeting between Russia and Western countries to criticize Russia’s fierce war in Ukraine.

The spotlight was on Lavrov, whose arrival at the meeting was met with shouts of “When are you going to stop the war” and “Why don’t you stop the war” as he was greeted by Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi.

Lavrov appeared before reporters after the first session in which he was heavily criticized by Western Foreign Ministers, who he called “deviated” from the topic of discussion “to the frenzied criticism of the Russian Federation”.

“Aggressors, invaders, occupations – we hear a lot of such things today,” Lavrov told reporters.

“If the West doesn’t want talks but wants Ukraine to beat Russia on the battlefield, then maybe there’s nothing to talk about with the West,” Lavrov said.
