The Investigation Committee’s First Meeting in Ain al-Hilweh Camp and Efforts towards a Ceasefire

Ain al-Hilweh camp has witnessed complete calm since 3 am, with the exception of some insignificant breaches, where sporadic gunshots are heard, at a time when Palestinian efforts are focused on establishing a cease-fire.

In this context, the first meeting of the investigation committee was held inside the camp, which consisted of: its chairman, Major General Mueen Kawash representing “Fatah” and the “Palestine Liberation Organization”, the commander of the Palestinian joint force, Major General Mahmoud al-Ajouri, the representative of the Palestinian Forces Alliance, Abu Hassan Kurdieh, and the representative of the Islamic forces, Nasr al-Maqdah, where he will be placed It has all the available data on the assassination of Brigadier General Al-Armoushi and his comrades, as well as the assassination of Abd al-Rahman Farhoud, in order to begin its work in exposing everyone whom the investigations show was involved and handing them over to the Lebanese justice.
In parallel, a meeting was held at the headquarters of the unions in Sidon, for the Palestinian Labor Authority, to translate its decisions to stabilize the ceasefire, to secure a safe environment for the return of the displaced to the camp, and to monitor and control any violations immediately.

In addition, the army gradually reopened the entrances to the camp, and a shy movement of citizens was recorded inside to inspect their properties and homes, as the clashes caused great damage to them and the infrastructure, while killing 11 people and more than sixty wounded since their outbreak.
