At the start of the year, the Intercity Hotel brand was established in the direct vicinity of Berlin Brandenburg International Airport, continuing a development strategy aimed at business travelers. Being as close as possible to major hubs or central stations: this desire had already materialized in Switzerland with a hotel near the Zurich hub.
To make its entry into French-speaking Switzerland today, the Deutsche Hospitality group brand has pursued this guiding principle by setting up not far from Geneva-Cointrin airport, in the Etang district. A former industrial site redeveloped into a new urban center with sustainable ambitions, marked by the receipt of the SNBS-Quartier label. Located in the town of Vernier, this reconversion project called Evolution+ Quartier de l’Étang combines housing and schools, a shopping center and office buildings, bars and restaurants.
As for the hotel component, it was already present in the Etang district with the opening last March of a B&B Hotels and an Adina apart-hotel. The InterCity brand has just been added with an establishment with 270 rooms equipped with a restaurant and bar and a wellness area.
