Jakarta – Muslims celebrate Isra Mi’raj on Thursday (11/10/2021) which is one of the important events. The moment of Isra Mi’raj 2021 coincides with the time for Muslims to fast Monday Thursday.
Arabic: نَوَيْتُ صَوْمَ يَوْمَ الْخَمِيْسِ
Latin: Nawaitu sauma yaumal khomiisi sunnatan lillahi ta’ala
Meaning: “I intend to fast the sunnah on Thursday, sunnah because of Allah Taala.”
Quoted from the site About Islam, the fasting Monday Thursday can continue even though it coincides with Isra Mi’raj 2021. Especially if a Muslim regularly does it every week.
But it must be a concern, if a Muslim is fasting to celebrate or an expression of gratitude for the occurrence of Isra Mi’raj. According to Abot Islam, there is no verse that explains the implementation of fasting related to the celebration of Isra Mi’raj.
“For Muslims to feel gratitude for the occurrence of a major event is very important. Especially if the event brings blessings to every Muslim. However, proving gratitude does not mean fasting,” wrote About Islam.

Meaning: “Glory be to Allah, who has led His servant one night from Al Masjid al-Haram to Al Masjid al-Aqsa which We have blessed around him so that We may show him some of Our signs (greatness). Indeed, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Hearing Knowing. “
In the hadith narrated by Muslims, the command to pray five times a day also came down during the event Isra Mi’raj. The five daily prayers are obtained after being discounted several times from Allah SWT to relieve His servants.
