The Indonesian Pediatrician Association’s Official Guide to Self-Isolation of Children Positive for Covid-19

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA –The Indonesian Pediatrician Association publishes guidelines self isolation (Isoman) for children and families who are positive for Covid-19.

Quoting from the official IDAI guide, there are a number of things that must be prepared and paid attention to during self isolation child.

The first is to ensure that children who are positive for Covid-19 have no symptoms or are asymptomatic, or have mild symptoms such as cough, runny nose, fever, diarrhea, vomiting, and rashes.

Then, the child is active and can eat and drink. Parents must apply cough etiquette to their children and monitor symptoms or complaints.

IDAI explained, parents can continue to care for children who are positive for Covid-19, provided that parents or caregivers have a low risk of severe symptoms.

If there are family members who are positive, they can be isolated together.

However, when parents and children differ in the status of Covid-19 symptoms, it is recommended that they sleep 2 meters apart, on separate mattresses.

It is important for parents to provide psychological support to their children.
