“Last night, I raised the issue (of the Indonesian team’s return) when talking to the NHS and Sarah Cooke, because from their Prokes regulation there is an obligation to isolate 10 days,” said Desra, in a press conference with reporters, Friday (19/3/2021).
“Finally I asked, can the Indonesian team go home immediately (before the 10-day quarantine period ends)? Verbally they said, it’s okay. But I don’t believe the words alone, I asked for a written guarantee from the NHS,” he explained.

“I will also directly escort my friends from out of the hotel to the airport, until they fly. Because of this they have had a bad experience, when they want to go home, they have also experienced the same thing. So to ensure that I need assurance that the team can return home comfortably and secure.”
This plan was then welcomed by the team of managers All England for Indonesia, Ricky Soebagdja. According to him, this is the right step, especially when the team arrives in Indonesia there will be a five-day quarantine in Jakarta. He does not want to add to the burden on athletes if he has to quarantine for 10 days in England.
“For that, we hope, especially Mr. Ambassador (Desra Percaya) to be the guarantee. This is extraordinary. Do not miss twice so that the athletes will return more freely and arrive at home comfortably,” said Ricky.
