The incidence rate of cases tested positive for Covid-19 has exceeded the alert threshold in the
Sarthe, announced Tuesday
Pays-de la Loire Regional Health Agency (ARS) on its website.

With 52.5 cases testing positive at coronavirus per 100,000 inhabitants over the last seven days, the incidence rate
is on the rise compared to August 11, where it stood at 32 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the department. The alert threshold is set at 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants per week.

Continuation of a free screening campaign in Le Mans

This rate is 19.5 on average at the regional level and 21.6 in the neighboring department of Mayenne, which had experienced a resurgence of the epidemic in early summer.

The ARS does not comment on these figures in its Covid-19 newsletter. Tuesday morning, however, she announced the continuation of a free screening campaign at Le Mans until August 21. “The incidence and positivity rates indicate that the virus is actively circulating. Increased vigilance is required in Sarthe, and in the city of Le Mans. The stake is to avoid a new epidemic wave, by reducing the viral circulation and thus the epidemic pressure ”, wrote in a press release the ARS, the city of Mans and the prefecture.

The test positivity rate is 5.3% in Sarthe, against 3% nationally.
