If you wonder why you have a “weaker” period from a physical or moral point of view, you can also wonder if you are getting the vitamins you need from the environment or food.

Vitamins play an essential role in the normal functioning of the human body and which, with a few exceptions, cannot be synthesized by it. They are found in most foods of natural origin and are absolutely necessary for the growth, maintenance of vitality and general well-being of our body.

Calcium

Calcium is vital for the bone system, but it also plays an important role in the functioning of nerve cells. In addition, calcium keeps blood pressure within normal limits. Not only dairy products are rich in calcium, but also sardines, salmon, broccoli, tofu, sesame, oranges, apricots and walnuts.

Vitamin D

Also called the sunshine vitamin, because it is best assimilated in the presence of sunlight, vitamin D forms an inseparable team together with calcium for the health of our bones. In addition to this role, vitamin D supports the immune system, regulates metabolism and helps prevent cancer. Besides the sun, the best source of vitamin D is fish and seafood.

Magnesium

This mineral is essential for the cardiovascular system, for the muscular and skeletal system. Magnesium helps us develop our muscle mass and avoid muscle fever after a more intense effort. Magnesium can be found in nuts, dark chocolate, green leafy vegetables, pumpkin and pumpkin seeds, whole grains and bananas.

Vitamin E

An anti-aging magician, vitamin E fights free radicals, protects us from cancer and nervous system conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease. Good sources of vitamin E are walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, olive oil, spinach, broccoli and tomatoes.

Omega 3 fatty acids

A positive example of fats we need are Omega 3 fatty acids, vital for the heart, brain and blood clotting process. They cannot be produced by our body, which means that we are completely dependent on food for their supply. Some sources of Omega 3 are: salmon, tuna, sardines, mackerel, nuts, avocado, olive oil and eggs.

Vitamin B complex

The B complex includes a series of eight vitamins, all essential for the proper functioning of the body: B1, B2, B3, B6, B7, B9, B12 and B15. The main role of B vitamins is the health of the nervous system, but they also have multiple roles in the functioning of other organs. Sources of B vitamins: whole grains, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, pumpkin, brewer’s yeast, turkey and beef, chicken or pork liver.
