The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, emphasized that the victory of Ukraine now will determine the path of the nation for generations to come and prove the rightness of the values founded a thousand years ago, Ukrinform reported, quoted by BTA.
The Ukrainian head of state said this in a speech delivered during the celebration of today’s Statehood Day in Ukraine.
“For us to win now is to define the nation’s path for generations to come, to win is to uphold the covenants of values whose foundations were laid then – a thousand years before you and me, it is to choose to unite with the world, to choose to be participants in world history, to have the right to our own national history,” Zelensky said.
Ukrainians do not believe that Russia will not want to repeat its aggression, the head of state of Ukraine pointed out.
“We do not believe that Russia will not want to return with aggression, even after we push the invaders out of our entire territory. But the victory of Ukraine can and should be such that all attempts of the enemy to return will not come out of the sick fantasy of those abnormal people who make such plans,” noted the President of Ukraine.
Zelensky mentioned that the defense of the country in this war fought for the freedom and independence of Ukraine has set national priorities and that it is the defense of the country that is the highest priority. Everything else is graded according to how important it is to the defense and preservation of Ukraine.
“Our desire to win will determine what Ukraine will look like in the future. Strong. Free. European. A country without internal strife. A country that values its internal unity,” said Volodymyr Zelensky.
